Background

Born and raised in Miami's vibrant Little Havana as a first-generation Cuban American, I grew up surrounded by a community of Cuban immigrants. Witnessing firsthand the challenges of mental illness and addiction within my own family inspired me to pursue a deeper understanding of human behavior and the mind. This journey led me to earn an undergraduate degree in Psychology and a Master’s in Counselor Education with a focus on Mental Health Counseling from Florida International University.

My passion is guiding college students who are navigating uncertainty and seeking direction. I am dedicated to employing evidence-based therapeutic approaches in my practice, including Person-Centered Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness-Based Therapy, and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). These modalities have proven effective in treating depression, anxiety, and trauma.

Driven by an innate passion for continual learning and growth, I regularly attend conferences and pursue ongoing education to enhance my skills and stay current with advancements in the field. My commitment to this profession has enriched my life profoundly, and I am eager to share that expertise to benefit others.
